What this site collects, what it does not, and how client information is protected.

This website does not track you. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising pixels. If you do not use the contact form, this site collects nothing that identifies you.
Client tax information does not live on this website. It lives in the secure client portal, and it is governed by your engagement letter and the consent forms you sign there — not by this page.
If you fill out the form on the Contact page, it sends the firm your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the service you selected, and your message. That submission is delivered to chris@wcparker.com by the site host and is also retained in the host’s form dashboard.
It is used to answer you. It is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing, and it is not added to any advertising list. If you would like a submission deleted, email chris@wcparker.com and say so.
Please do not put Social Security numbers, account numbers, or tax documents in the contact form. It is ordinary email delivery, not secure transmission. Once you are a client, send those through the portal, which is encrypted and access-controlled.
Videos on this site are embedded from YouTube using their privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube is not contacted at all until you press play. Once you do, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies under their own policy, which the firm does not control.
The company that hosts this site keeps standard web server logs — IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser type — as every web host does. These are used for security and reliability. The firm does not build profiles from them or connect them to individuals.
Tax return information is protected by federal law. Under IRC §7216 and §6713, a tax return preparer may not disclose or use your return information except as the law permits or as you consent in writing. This firm obtains written consent before any disclosure that requires it, and those consents name the specific recipients rather than describing them vaguely.
The firm maintains a written information security program covering how client data is stored, who may reach it, and what happens if something goes wrong, consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule at 16 C.F.R. Part 314.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and the firm does not knowingly collect information from them through it.
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes affecting current clients are communicated through the portal.
